FREC Level 4 is the second Certificate of a suite of qualifications leading to a Technician Level 5 Diploma and Level 6 Paramedic The higher levels of FREC will require Paramedic, Nurse or Doctor tutor staff, so make sure you select a centre that can provide tutors at this level, as a core member of their full time staff.

- Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (FREC®)
- This qualification is now recognised by NHS ambulance services as suitable for the ECA role within the private ambulance services working on front line A&E.
- The QA Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (QCF) has been designed by experts in emergency care education to provide a comprehensive qualification designed to meet requirements in various employment sectors and environments. Achieving this qualification will enable Learners to seek employment within the healthcare sector and other sectors that require emergency care provision. The aim of the qualification is to enable Learners to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of prehospital emergency situations. On completion Learners will have demonstrated the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective prehospital care in situations which can arise when providing emergency treatment and/or management.
- The QA Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (QCF) qualification continues from Level 3 to further develop Learners skills giving them even greater opportunities to progress onto higher level qualifications within the FREC® emergency care qualifications suite or career progression into other areas of prehospital emergency care, such as ambulance services.
- There is a pre qualification require of Level 3 FREC, along with completion of 118 hours of qualifying portfolio of CPD.
