Make Sure Your Organisation is getting it Right! Say ‘No’ to e-Learning!
A Lincolnshire Care Home group was using a First Aid e-learning package consisting of 20 – 40 questions to certify it’s staff.
Clearly this is not sufficient, as proved by the ‘Qualified Nurse’ on duty who confused a choking patient as having a stroke, and still continued to feed them their next course at dinner!
Sometimes it takes an extreme example to educate people, and I wish this were just a theoretical example. In my honest opinion, the use of e-Learning does not, and never can replace face to face education programmes, no matter how many shiny videos and animated slides they have.
