Out of 2203 cardic arrests which happened in the home the avareage response time for anyone to start CPR is 12.3 minutes….

For every minute that the heart is not beating efficiantly and no CPR has been started the survival rate drops by 10%

This may explain why the average percentage of people who survive is 5%.

If more people new what to do in the case of an emergency and more AED’s (automated external defibrilators) were avaliable this number could rise.
