– In the UK approximatley 30,000 people sustain cardiac arrest outside hospital.
– An average of only 7% of its victims in the UK survive
– It can happen anytime, anywhere and to anyone, even young athletes.
– Early defibrilation is the single most effective treatment for SCA
– Defibrillation within 3 minutes of collapse can increase the chance of survival to over 70%.

Sadly on average only 7% of people who suffer sudden cardiac arrest outside the hospital survive, and survival rates fall by around 10% every minute.
Theres rarely any warning, and a victim of SCA usually collapses and stops breathing immidiatly, thats when the clock starts ticking.
Calling 999 in the event of SCA is critical, as is performing CPR on the victim
